Lessons in Lenormand: The Ship (3)

Sooo... How are you doing today? I hope you are ready for the next bit of my Lessons in Lenormand 😃. This week we are going to have a look at the Ship, the 3rd card of the Lenormand deck:

Card number 3: The Ship

The Ship generally symbolises traveling distances that are not possible to reach within a day's journey on foot. I once heard that it is a minimum of 50 kilometers (31.0686 miles, roughly...), but of course, the numbers can differ wherever you are. Think of places you can only reach by train, coach, or plane. Or, as the card already suggests, by ship. Anyways, if you or your querent's question revolved around maybe going to a different place, and this card shows up (with no cards telling you otherwise), you or they can be sure that the travel's going to happen.

The Ship & the House (4) in combination can speak of a home far away, and especially when combined with the Stork (17), it can speak of relocating/moving to a different place (oftentimes in a different region of the world).

When combined with the Tree (5), I would say it could stand for finding health and balance in a different place. Think of health resorts, for example.

With the Snake (7), it could stand for getting to your destination by taking detours, whatsoever.

Combined with the Mice (23), once again, you have to pay attention to the (upmost) mouse in the card image. When it "gnaws" off the Ship, it could mean a journey which wouldn't be as long/far, or when its behind is facing the Ship, the journey in question wouldn't be as "nice" and refreshing as you may have wanted.

By the way, with many combinations, please keep in mind that they mostly can be applied in the Grand Tableau (a spread using all 36 cards), because when in three-card spreads or so, I often see these three cards as single messages coming out. Not always, mind you, but you have to go with your intuition, and for me personally, there is only so much space to interpret the three single cards one has drawn. Within the Grand Tableau, you also pay attention to a group of cards at once, not necessarily only the two cards needed for the combination. But we will talk about this later on.

Please do take care of yourselves, and see you next week!
